Melbourne Cup Update - 15 Days to Go!

We have a NEW FAVOURITE for the Melbourne Cup!

The English import TAWQEET followed up on his win in the Metropolitan Hcp last month with victory in the Group 1 Caulfield Cup on Saturday. The Cup was vitally important as a lead up to the big two miler at Flemington, and there were both positive and negative outcomes from it's running.

But let's look at the revised TAB short market first:

5/1 TAWQEET
11/2 YEATS
7/1 POP ROCK
9/1 DELTA BLUES
10/1 ON A JEUNE
14/1 DIZELLE, RAILINGS, ACTIVATION
20/1 ZIPPING, OUR SMOKING JOE

TAWQEET is now a deserved favourite based on those two latest wins. YEATS has shortened since he arrived safely from the UK and he is the European Champion stayer.

The Japanese pair of POP ROCK and DELTA BLUES impressed on Saturday and they're looming as huge chances in the cup. The Caulfield Cup was full of promising MC performances and there were none better than DIZELLE who was just starting to get warmed up at the end of the 2400m.

ACTIVATION was a good run and so was OUR SMOKING JOE who is still looking for the heavens to open up. ZIPPING fell out of favour a bit with a lacklustre performance, and ON A JEUNE goes around in the Geelong Cup tomorrow-the race that he won this time last year..
