Let Go Thommo is a Horse to Follow

With the obvious exceptions of El Segundo and Desert War who both brained their opposition to win high class races in the easiest of fashions on Saturday, the "be on me next time" run of the day was the West Aussie Let Go Thommo who got beaten just a short neck in The Jayco Stakes at Caulfield. Having his first start at the track, Thommo came from well back and peaked on his run 50m from the post, but still whacked away to go down by the short margin to the race favourite Tesbury Jack. He'll take great benefit from the run and will strip cherry ripe for his next start which is scheduled to be the $250,000 Gilgai Stakes (1200m) at Flemington on Oct 7th. Trained by the relatively young Ascot based trainer Steven Ryan, Let Go Thommo performed impressively in Perth returning a series of sub 33sec sectionals before going to Melbourne. He's your rent bet for early October.
