Profitable Debut by Swiss Watch
Debutant Swiss Watch, (Danetime-Smooth Mover) made a big impression at Belmont Park on Wednesday by running a very good second at the generous odds of 20/1!
It was a game effort at his first raceday attempt and after being second around the corner, he maintained his position, battling away in the straight, and although soundly held by 2 1/2 lengths on the line by the very well tried Alchemy, there was a further 2 1/4 lengths back to the third placegetter.
Jockey Paul King had good words to say about Swiss Watch predicting a profitable future once the horse improves his manners slightly, and gets over a bit more ground than the 1000m scamper yesterday.
Kingy's opinion was backed up by trainer Paul Jordan who also predicted a bright future for the horse. Paul trained Swiss Watch's mother Smooth Mover to win four races and be placed in the Listed Burgess Queen Quality Stakes as a 3yo.
