$2.5Million Colt Wins On Debut!

Musket, a $2.5 Million yearling purchase and the three quarter brother to Australia’s greatest mare, Makybe Diva, showed maturity beyond his years with a performance at Canterbury last week that had class written all over it.

An easing favourite, Musket was midfield after turning for home with Champion hoop Darren Beadman searching for a run. When the gap came, Beadman was searching for superlatives as the colt fair dinkum exploded away from the opposition to win by panels of fencing-eased down!

"To win a class three event giving away race experience and fitness, he had a lot against him, it wasn’t a gimme,” Beadman said. "He jumped good and put himself in the right spot, travelled nice and went through a skinny opening and lengthened stride really good over the last 100m. He gave me a nice feel, you couldn’t have asked for anymore, it was a 100 per cent effort. He raced right to the line, he didn’t get to the front and say what have I got to do, he pinned his ears back and away he went".

The official winning margin was 3 3/4 lengths and this is a very classy colt which will pay to follow...
