Personally I'm backing Our Smoking Joe in the BMW Caulfield Cup, based on his good odds and strong performances of late.

And for the Emirates Melbourne Cup, I'm backing Yeats, the brilliant stayer from Ireland, based on his good odds as a result of his confirmation that he will race in the Cup. His result tomorrow in the Irish St Leger should also gauge his progress.
