Melbourne Cup Countdown-31 Days To Go!
This Saturday sees quite a few cup contenders going around and the pre post market will no doubt be changed one way or another.
It's about time for both the favourite and second favourite Headturner and Railings to start making more of an impression. I know they're being trained for a two mile race, but to retain their position at the head of the market, both must impress tomorrow in the Group 1 Turnbull Stakes at Flemington. The one they have to beat is Lee Freedman's Sphenophyta, (see Weekends Best Bets).
Tawqeet goes around in The Metropolitan 2400m in Sydney and he'll love the journey so expect a run from him. On A Jeune, a 20/1 chance and runner up last year goes around in race 4 at Flemington and will be running on, (but then again it'd be running on at the end of the Sydney to Melbourne marathon!). The two Japanese horses Pop Rock and Delta Blues have firmed in betting overnight.
