The Black Flash Runs Third at Ascot

The Black Flash made amends for his unplaced effort at his last run by fighting out the finish of race 6 at Ascot today. Ridden an absolute treat by jockey Shaun O'Donnell who was having his first ride for the Belhus team for quite a few years, the Flash was well placed throughout and ran to the front on straightening. He fought on strongly to the line but wasn't quite good enough on the day and finished third-a couple of lengths from the winner.
Trainer Trevor Andrews was full of praise for The Black Flash and predicted that a step up to 1400m would see the son of Don't Say Halo return to the Winners Circle very soon.

Kingston Classic/Pat Update

Kingston Classic and jockey Pat Carbery took a nasty fall at Ascot on Saturday. For the record, Pat is in bright spirits in hospital with a broken wrist the worst of his injuries. He predicts he'll be back riding in 6 weeks! Kingston Classic lost a bit of skin on the off hind leg and suffered a minor cut to his chest-more or less getting off scott free. Like the jocky, he's now gone for a 6 week spell.

Baron Orczy Runs Second at Rosehill

Baron Orczy, our three year old gelding by Rory's Jester trained by Gai Waterhouse ran the race of his life at Rosehill on the weekend when finishing a game second to the outstanding Magnus.

They had to run a class record and run home in 33.71 to beat The Baron who has now earned six cheques from six starts.

Gai now wants to take him to Melbourne and give him a chance at taking out one of thier feaure short course events over the next month. He'll have a tune up to the Melbourne way of going by starting at Moonee Vallye next Friday night in a 1000m dash.
