Kingston Classic Wins at Ascot

"How about that for a good ride" were the first words that Pat Carbery said as he was still atop Kingston Classic as he returned to the winners circle after race 7 at Ascot on Saturday.

And quite rightly so too Pat! When the general pattern of racing suggested that it was better to be in the first 3 or 4 coming around the corner on the day, the faster pace in our race saw "The King" back around seventh or eighth early. However, true to his recent few starts where he's settled much better with the use of a Norton, (anti pulling) bit, and of course the true pace suiting him, Pat had him just where he was happy and then made his move approaching the corner. At the 250m it was obvious the race was all but over as Kingston Classic and Carbery surged to the lead, and although Oliver's Tale made a race of it, he was never really going to beat us.

Kingston Classic has had eight runs in for this prep now but trainer Alan Mathews says he's showing zero signs of wanting a break and assuming that he pulls up fine, we'll look for another run in a fortnight's time.

He's now taken his record to 32 starts for 5 wins, 5 seconds and 5 thirds for stakes around the $140,000 mark.

Baron Orczy Wins Randwick Trial

Our three year old Rory's Jester gelding Baron Orczy made his public return to the track by easily winning a trial at Randwick on Jan 27th.

Ridden by Linda Meech, The Baron showed a ton of speed to win his trial over 740m in authoritive style. Jumping brilliantly, he gave nothing else a chance and recorded the fastest time of the day over the journey in winning by 1 1/4 lengths, with 4 lengths to third.
Trainer Gai Waterhouse plans to give him another trial within two weeks and then enter him for a suitable race.

The Black Flash Runs Third at Ascot

The Black Flash made his return to racing in exciting fashion, when, after having been off the scene for 12 months, he was well placed throughout and fought out a three way finish to just go down narrowly by a neck and long neck.

Trainer Trevor Andrews presented the horse in magnificent condition pre race, and this caused many to have another bet! Stable apprentice Ritchie Rhodes took advantage of the inside barrier and had his mount perfectly placed throughout giving him every chance-and his followers a big thrill as they raced to the line.
Interestingly, Flash was the recipient of a stem cell technology transplant earlier this year in the hope of correcting a minor strain to a suspensory ligament.
The 'Flash will have a couple of weeks between runs and will most likley have his next run at Ascot on Magic Millions Day

Kingston Calssic Second at Ascot

It was a top effort from Kingston Classic on Sunday. He settled the best in running that he's ever done here in WA and finished well, just to be beaten by a better horse-one that's rapidly becoming noticeable having now won his last four starts. There was quite a weight pull for Zambane and that probably made the difference in favour of the younger horse.

Trainer Alan Mathews and jockey Pat Carbery are both of the opinion that KC can win staying events now that his brain is functioning and he continues to race this well. With that in mind, we'll give him one or two more runs and then spell him with the intention of bringing him back to try and win some of the feature winter staying events at Belmont Park such as the Winter Cup, Helena Vale Cup, Metropolitan Hcp, St Leger, etc. Alan also hinted that if successful with this plan, he'll also consider targeting the 2007 Perth Cup IF he's got a stayer that can settle in his races....

Look for him running on Saturday week in another 1800m.

The Syndicate

Shares in our syndicated horses are commonly in 1/10th's, 1/12th's or 1/20th's. Shares start from a couple of thousand dollars and go right up to ten or twenty thousand dollars per share depending on what we pay for a particular horse and how many shares are offered. We usually have shares for sale at any given time at prices to suit everyone. The daily cost for a 1/20th share is around $4.50/day.

We charge FIXED FEES so that you'll know exactly what you're up for rather than having them fluctuating when a horse is in and out of work. The fees which are billed quarterly, are inclusive of the following; Breaking In, stabling, racing, floating and transportation within the horse's home state, agistment, normal vet services, jockeys fees (other than prizemoney percentages), raceclub fees, gear, colours and all communications for the syndicate.

Social Functions:

It's true that many of our clients join us JUST FOR THE SOCIAL FUNCTIONS! Your syndicate membership entitles you to complimentary tickets to our fully catered raceday functions at major racecourses around Australia. A syndicate member with a 1/20th share is entitled to one free ticket for each function. A syndicate member with a 1/10th or 1/12th share is entitled to two free tickets.

Throughout the year, we also organise regular off track events such as stable open days, river cruises, Sunday afternoon BBQ's and even restaurant nights to further enhance the entertainment and pleasure of owning a share in a Belhus horse.

Racing Colours:

All Belhus syndicated horses race in the registered team colours of Royal Blue, White Star, checked sleeves and cap.

Naming Rights:

All new members of a racing syndicate are invited to submit suitable names for the horse(s).

Stakemoney:

All stakemoney is paid out to shareholders at the end of each month that the cheque is received from the appropriate raceclub.
