Fire From Ice returns from the grave!

Fire From Ice showed that he is without doubt one of the toughest horses alive when he put in a marvellous effort to run second in the final event at Belmont Park on Saturday.
Not everyone would know that earlier this year, Fire From Ice was on death row as he'd been given the last rites by three attending veterinarians who were just about stumped by an abcess that grew as big as a football in the horse's pelvic area that kept recurring and wouldn't go away despite all their treatment. In a last ditch attempt to save him, they risked the chance of fatal infection and lanced the offending mass, draining an incredible THREE LITRES of pus from just beside his sheath!

The recovery shown by the horse was almost immediate and just three weeks later he was back in work at trainer Paul Jordans Ascot stables. With two tough runs under his belt, an ideal draw brought the speedy son of Key Business right into play on Saturday and after being backed from 25/1 into 14/1 by confident connections, he showed that he was back to peak health by beating all but Alpine Lad on the line.

There's no doubt that Fire From Ice will pay to follow from now on, and special mention must be made of the outstanding care the horse received from the dedicated and caring staff at The Horse Hospital, Ascot, as well as trainer Paul Jordan and his staff who absolutely dote on their stables favourite horse.
